The Review:
The shears come packaged in a plastic package with a cardboard backing which is fine.
Inside you’ll find the shears and then a little bag holding an extra spring and extra cutting blade which is nice to have.
The shears are very solidly made of solid metal and really heavy at about 1 pound. They’re about 9.25 inches long and about 2.75 inches wide when closed and then about 7 inches wide when open at the widest point at the bottom of the handles. My hand barely reaches the handles when they’re open all the way. The handles are covered with a rubber non-slip grip that I noticed are glued on as you can see a little glue at the tops.
They do have a metal clip to hold them closed when not in use that you can just flip open with your thumb. If you just squeeze the shears together tightly the clip will just fall open as well, the spring in the center keeps enough tension on them to keep the lock in place.
The blade opens up to slightly over 1 inch at the widest point and it does seem sharp to the touch, not razor sharp of course as it’s not supposed to be.
I’ve use them a few times trimming the bushes and trees etc around the house and they work fine.
They’re very heavy and using them for long periods they feel like they get heavier honestly.
I did notice that the orange paint is already coming off around the spring area. I didn’t do anything like drop them, just used them as they’re supposed to be used and the paint is coming off. It’s not a big issue as it doesn’t affect the shears or how they work, but it just doesn’t look good.
Pros:
+Well made and heavy duty
+Sharp enough for most sized small branches
+Rubber coated handles for non-slip
+Includes extra blade and spring
+Lock when not in use
+Simple to use
Cons:
-Paint already coming off
-Heavy
