"Until recently I never really thought about USB ports. I mean I use them all of the time, mostly for charging my phone and other devices and USB flash drives, so they’re just there ready for me to use them as I need to. I’ve never wondered or I guess really cared as to how well they actually perform their duty like charging my phone. Recently a company called Power Practical has a Kickstarter campaign for a little gadget called the Practical Meter which was fully funded and more and now it’s available for purchase. The Practical Meter is a small flash drive like device that allows you to test any USB port and it tells you how much power that port will provide for charging. You might think that most all USB ports are the same but you’d be wrong as I found out through my testing with the Meter. So today for review I have the Power Practical Meter and a three in one USB fast charging cable that comes with it. So read on…"

Meze 11 Classics Earphones Review

"Today for review I’ve got a pair of headphones or earbuds from a company called Meze and they’re called the 11 Classics and what makes these special I think is the fact that they’re made of wood. The majority of headphones on market are plastic with some made of metal but not many from wood. I’m not sure why you don’t see more headphones made from wood. Take a look at speakers, the best ones are made from wood and they produce the best sound, so why don’t we see more wood headphones if we know that wood gives us a better sound overall? I don’t know the answer to that, but I do know the headphones I have for review today are very much worth a look if you appreciate good sound from your music. The Meze 11 Classics are priced at about $80 and that’s not overly expensive but it’s not exactly inexpensive either, I guess it depends on what you consider expensive or not. The headphones phones do come with a nice carrying case and I have to say that they are quality made overall. So read on…"

Candywirez Micro USB to USB Sync and Charge Cable Review

Quote:  "When you think of USB cables you think of plain old black ones, sure they work but they’re just really plain. Candywirez has sent me over one of their versions of a microUSB cable and I have to say it’s certainly unique and I very much like it.  The cable is five feet long and it’s the flat or tangle free style but the best part I think is that it comes in a variety of colors. I like the colored cable because it just doesn’t blend in with all my black cables and that makes it much easier to find. Read on… "

No PS4 or Xbox One for Me

xbone

Have kids and you’ll know you can’t really afford stuff like this as things for them are more important especially with Christmas coming. So no Xbox One or PS4 for me right now.  I got my PS3 by trading stuff for it years ago and I bought the Xbox 360 because I got a great deal on it, discounts and stuff I think, or I may have traded for that as well, I don’t remember.

I tried to get them for review on TestFreaks but I didn’t even get the courtesy of a response from either company. Oh well, that’s life, but I’m allowed to bitch about it, it’s my blog and I can rant and rave all I want and I don’t care who thinks what.

New review by me!!

"Not long ago I took a look at the Genius Energy Mouse which is a mouse with an external battery inside is charge your other devices and today I have something similar, or at least I think it is. The product for review today is from RAVPower and it’s their new Luster RP-PB08 3000mAh external battery pack which is very small and portable making it easy to take with you. On one end of the Luster you’ll find the standard USB port for charging but on the other is a very bright flashlight. To me this is a flashlight with a built-in battery pack so you can have light when you need but also have power when you need it as well. I’ve found it to be very handy and useful and I know it will be getting a lot of use by me, at least the flashlight part will anyway. So read on to learn about a great little product.."

"Today I have a very large review for you of a new IP camera from Compro Technology called the TN600W. This camera is technically called the TN600W Plug-n-Play Cloud Network Camera and it’s all of those things and more really. The TN600W is something that anyone looking for a monitoring solution for their home or business can appreciate as it has features that I think one would want in a camera of this type. The biggest and most exciting feature I think is panning and tilting, the TN600W can move all around and let you see wherever you want to in the room from your computer or even even your mobile device. The camera also features two-way audio communications so you could carry on a conversation with someone right through the camera. The TN600W also features twelve integrated infrared LEDs that can really light up a room, making it go from day to night and letting you see everything that’s going on even in the dark. This camera is very simple to setup, yes it has a lot of advanced features but if you primarily want mobile viewing it couldn’t be simpler as you just need to plug it in, install an app and scan the QR code on the camera and that’s it, you’re up and running with the ability to via and communicate right from your mobile device. We live in a very mobile world and let’s face it we live in world where surveillance cameras are the norm everywhere so why shouldn’t they be in your home as well. The TN600W from Compro has multiple uses from just monitoring your children or pets to actually protecting your home or even your business. So read on… "
